The gist of it boils down to: I share a name (and a creepy number of interests) with a character from the comic. I figured I already depict myself wearing one of her outfits, why not go with another for Halloween! The "what pumpkin?" gag is one that features prominently in the author's stories, so Foxenawolf decided to poke that in there too :3
