im not indecisive or anything!
I just had it a long time. completely rebuilt the car from scratch. redid superstructure and over time, engine spun, then detonation, then i wanted more power, then i wanted more power again. so the first two dont count, they just died.
this last one though is totally me. after finishing the swap, a friend pops up saying "look what i made!" and i was like "what?? i didnt know you could do that!" so now im taking this one right back out and copycatting what he just did.

I have not gone to a dyno yet, this was completed just in time for AC, and then we went to other cons and then furfright. but it is more than i am used to. i have increased the piston diameter and altered the head, among a great deal of other work and forced me to redrill the veins for the coolant and alter a 2 stage intake manifold. it is essentially a custom cross between a 3vz and 1mz. without any of these edits it would have been 300-330hp normally aspirated with almost equal torque (from the dynos of friends mr2's). with the edits it currently feels almost twice this amount.
it is also making more torque than just about anyone else while simply at idle. the peak power has been migrated from the 4-6k range of the band to the entire band.
To compensate, the wheels and wells had to e widened and the footprint flattened. currently 9 inches wide in front and 11 inches wide in the rear edge to edge. the torque wastes tires quickly. i have switched to dunlop direzza z2's and will e widening again ecause it is still not good enough and can never e driven in the rain or cold temperature.
it will only get worse, the new engine is a 2gr-fe. the supercharger is an eaton non-traditional roots. the ecu is from a lotus elise.
i will be selling the current equipment along with a red mr2 that is the "prettier twin sister" of my current black one.
i need to design another wiring harness as well, which will need to deceive the ecu in more ways than one. (like tricking it into thinking there is an automatic transmission present). i am also working on a design to deceive the drive by wire system.
i left FA, but if you ever want to talk shop more or trade ideas, email me :)

woah, much more hardcore than I thought it was! I thought it'd be in the low 200hp, I don't know much about toyota engines, I'm more into nissans, but I just googled the 2gr-fe and it does seem like a whole lot of fun if you put it in a small car like a mr2, good luck with the project! The wiring harness would scares me to work on, but I guess you're used to this kind of job after so many engine transplant
an entirely unedited 1mz from a camry would likely make even less than low 200's. possible 180 to 200.
i did this for a friend named phoenix but he never took it to a dyno so i cannot confirm.
wiring should not be scary to people from a community of PC nerds who know way more about computers than i do.
it only seems hard until you learn it, like anything else. and the 2gr is definitely a monster with high potential. hopefully my last swap. with the amount of widening i have to keep doing and redoing to compensate for torq, im going to end up looking like a 74 pantera.
