First piece in a Challenge made by 
miss.anthro
I am not a confident poet, even though I've technically been published twice. Prior to this piece, I'd only ever done free-verse type stuff and poems that barely had a rhyme scheme, much less a cadence. This time, I think I successfully completed a piece with an actual melody and voice, and I had fun singling along with it as I wrote!
Inspired by my collection of Robert Johnson songs (who makes a bit of a cameo) and a trip to southern Oklahoma where I met an Anhinga, the humorously dry story of a bitter heron, playing them Snakebird Blues!
