Invented this character on a whim, because I was watching a lot of Muppet Shows from DVD. I wanted to add a female rival to Ms. Piggy. Naturally she'd be a skunk. Unlike other skunk characters I've made up, this one had to fit the general proportions of the Muppet Show cast, and not be too comlicated. Still, I couldn't bear to give her ping pong balls for eyes, either, or to show seams...

"Chanson de Fleur" means "Song of the Flower", for those of you totally without La Francais. I imagined it to be Ms. Piggy's old stage name, from before the Muppet Show, bestowed on the new singer by Kermit. It would be one more bone of contention between the two stars, of course.

Other details that popped into my head. Did you know most of the cast lived in small, delapidated rooms in the two floors over the theatre? Or that Statler and Waldorf are at ever show because they were on meager pensions, and decided to save money by rooming together in the box seats in the theater, without telling anyone? A few of the cast just sleep in the seats in the audience -- Gonzo, for instance. He could have a room upstairs if he wanted, but prefers to sleep in a chair because, well, because he's gonzo...
