A still from some footage. We nailed our boof off of Husum Falls and didn't even get wet, which is pretty hard to do on a waterfall this size.

I do use oars, but usually only if I'm guiding a special needs crew. I've guided Hells Canyon a lot too, (Snake River, deepest gorge in North America), and it's all oars out there. The White Salmon is a difficult river to use oars on because it can be so narrow, and super shallow in places. I know many guides who've dipped a downstream oar at a bad time and ended up with broken jaws, ribs, or even knocked out cold from getting speared by an oar. It takes a lot of finesse to guide with oars on this river. Oars also don't go over waterfalls very well. I've never seen anybody run Husum Falls clean with an oar frame. Being surrounded by all that metal would scare the hell out of me on a drop that size.
Who's down for the first fursuit descent? Now that I know I can do this without getting too wet I think I should give it a shot at some point, but I need another furry badass to wear the other suit and I don't think my friend in this shot would be down for that. I doubt he has any idea what a fursuit is.
