For those of you who think electric cars are a recent thing. This is a 1916 Rauch and Lang electric car. It has a 32 mile range and can go a blistering 25mph at top speed. This car is in working condition and has been driven on public roads, and is even registered as the 2014 sticker attests. Bud vases were a standard feature on this car.

Lol yep. In fact these, steam powered cars, and gas powered cars all shared the roads at one point. Actually these were preferred for a short period because they were really quiet and produced no exhaust. They were also very simple to use and reliable compared to steam and gas cars. However their range was very short and there was no interest in investing in electric infrastructure for cars at the time. I think electric cars and steam cars met their demise around the same time.
