This is from the camping trip I took last week. One of the campers I met there had a wolf for a pet. This was not just any wolf, oh no! This was a pure-white wolf. This beautiful creature was an amazing site to see, and I'm still excited about it! ^_^
The wolf's name is Snowman and he is 19 months old. I believe he is a Canadian wolf, in case anyone is interested to know. The owner found him when he was two weeks old, up in Montana when his den was crushed along with his two siblings, so the man took him in and raised him ever since. Just thought I'd share the photos I took of him for everyone here.
Thanks!

Its very difficult to tell the content in a wolfdog. We can only assume that it has something just because of its physical features, but my guess is that its only a high content wolfdog because it appears mostly tame and leashed on a flexi (LOL)
However, the legality of the ownership is certainly... up in the air lol. You cant take a native animal out of the wild and keep it as a pet.

I watch someone here on fA that is very knowledgeable on wolfdogs as she works at a facility that houses rescued wolfdogs. She explains there is no sure method to knowing if a dog has any wolf to them. Even the black GSD's I've seen can be mistaken for a wolf just because of the physical features. I know most wolfdogs are crossed with GSDs and Malamutes. The only wolfdog I've seen in person is an American Indian Dog and she looked more like a wolf X malamute Px
Its possible the owner has made up this story to make the dog sound cooler. If this was pure wolf, they can't ever be as tame as a dog and being out in the open like this with a stranger photographing it would make the dog/wolf very uneasy/angry.
I was stareing at the flexi too.. even a GSD or Malamute would eat trough a flexi lead and/or require a prong collar. I feel like this individual is a wolfXGSD. He mentioned the dog was young which may explain the lanky build. I feel like its not a wolf because of its size.. its small, not even comming up the man's waist.

I don't believe this is a pure wolf at all, it looks to me like a mid content wolfdog, german shepherd cross. There is a distinct lack of cow hock in the legs, the ears are extremely german shepherd as pure wolves actually have shorter, rounder ears. This animal also has a pigmentation in its nose called "snow nose" or "hypopigmentation" that occurs during the winter months and causes the nose to fade and goes back to normal in the summer, but it commonly occurs around lighter coated breeds, including white german shepherds. :)
This animal definitely has wolf in it, but it's definitely not a pure wolf. The leash confuses me also as some of the animals on our property, which are wolfdogs in all ranges of wolf content, would pull and chew that right off. It doesn't seem safe to me but that's my personal opinion.
The content of the animal is not only from my opinion but I showed the picture to my rescue partner, who has been working with wolfdogs for 30 years, and confirmed with me that he/she looks like a mid content wolfdog and NOT a pure wolf. :)
