From what I understand of the scene, Malachi (the blue wolf) is burning the lute he used to play for Lorelei (the silver vixen). In their culture clothes are not very commonplace, but here she is self consciously dressing as a kind of loss-of-innocence themed thing. Very garden of eden-esque I suppose. But to know more you'll just have to read the author's book when it comes out!
