If there was a counterbalance in the back portion (maybe in the tail) and you got it to work just right, you could probably make the suit big enough to stand up straight in (like, straight, but leaning forward) ...which would be a lot more comfortable. Though it'd feel pretty weird at first. I wonder how heavy it would be, daamn.
Well, using some simple foam forms (or chicken wire with the edges folded over to avoid poking--if you wanna get really rugged ...y'know, in case someone goes t'rex tippin'.) to form ribs and pads can give a larger suit more form and structure, leaving the inside hollow. A "skin" of foam goes over this base form, allowing for minor details. Then the fabric cover goes over the foam. Inside the head, a few small computer cooling fans keep fresh air flowing into the suit. These need only a couple 9v batteries to run, and can be cobbled together with stuff that might cost all of $10 from Radio Shack. Less if you already have a soldering iron. (Tutorial, yay!: http://www.matrices.net/fans.asp )
And for a stooped-over suit like this, just make yourself a butt-pack..gotta have a place to store all the muffins ;p (Though I think a lil fabric chute leading from the back of the mouth, down one side of the neck, and into the belly area would be best XD
You can use stocking material, or black reticulated foam cut really thin to make see-though covers for openings. The foam can be painted, and both work on the premise of "It's dark in here, light out there" to keep people from seeing through unless they invade your personal space.
For the short little arms, I'd suggest a little puppeteering with sticks, that way you can keep at least one hand free to control the mouth (What good is a 'rex suit if you can't open the gob?! X3). Although one hand can be used for a suit arm, and the other works the other arm with a stick, and controls the mouth.
Could even go the extra mile and make it so if you stoop wayyy over like a real t'rex, a cord pulls back on the head, keeping it level.
....goddamn I need a workshop so I can make al these blasted ideas to get 'em out of my head..I'm running out of room in there!! x.x

http://www.fursuit.org/wiki/doku.php?id=fursuit Here, this is a great place to get costuming resources, like learning about materials, and finding places to get said materials from. Though one tip, instead of paying $50 or more for a full 60"x24" sheet of inch thick poly-foam (staple for making suits) at a place like Joanne Fabrics, Walmart sells the same stuff in their craft department, just look in the stuffing and foam section, they come in big cardboard boxes for like $10-$15. ...at least you used to be able to, it's been a while since I looked for the stuff.
WOW!!
Looks amazing!!!
*cough* May I recommend you look at the Rex costume in my gallery https://www.crittercountry.com.au
Let me know if you like my style. I could certainly pull of this cupcake eating dino!
Regardless who build it. He's so getting pounced when he is made! ^__^

Hmmhmm. From the feasibility standpoint - how are you going to get in? Will it be split in two from the middle?
The tail will probably be a bit heavy. It's all right, the suit would be heavier to wear but you could use it as a counterweight for leaning a bit forward.
The forepaws. Are you planning to use your full arms through them or just the forearms for added effect?
If so, it might be possible to support the tail with suspenders over the shoulders, and lean slightly forward for a more rexly gait. Leaving the maw open with a grid cloth for vision could be a good idea, too. Visibility is often low with nonhumanoid designs and, safety reasons aside, not being able to see where you're going contributes to making one's gait less natural looking.

Oh my god awesome! I would love to make a head for that suit. :O I've made a deinonychus fursuit head before, with moveable jaw complete with stretchy bits in the corners of the mouth. :}

Just let me know if you'd be interested. Either way, can't wait to see this guy in person! <3

Oh wow, that's going to look really awesome!
What's your thinking on dimensions? Like how tall, how wide and how long with the tail? The suit should be big of course for maximum effect, but there's also the practical consideration of fitting through hotel doorways and on elevators.
Should be fun getting on the elevator with those hapless people who book the hotel not knowing there was a furry con scheduled at the same time. Their reactions are always fun to watch.

Wow, that would look great as a fursuit! :3
MixedCandy are good, but pretty expensive too, lol. So I'm just making my fursuit myself and maybe getting them to make the head xD So much cheaper that way, lol.
But if our paths ever cross with you wearing that fab suit, I'll have to give you lots and lots of cupcakes :3

Whomever you choose, best of luck with the design process!
I would also suggest you speak to sokitwopaw as he made a few padded suits with incredible detail and design. Many people saw his 'NKS' suit at Further Confusion this year (big white canid type with tall ears, orange and blue contrasts, seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1055104/
He's a really talented guy and I figure he's one of the few who could pull off the padding correctly, and every suit I've seen him make has been unique and very noticeable. He's also a great guy :)
I'll be giving you phinny hugs if you ever make it to rainfurrest or Further Confusion! :)

You know Duncan Roo right? The big green roo? Whoever made his suit. Was it him? X3 I forget. but yeah, they also made an ostel suit, an' another roo suit, and they all seemed to deal with the whole rounded leg thing really well. YOu might have to bend over the entire time to be at the right angle though, which could be a strain after a while. You'll probably have to consider your position inside the suit.
