Thanks. I was originally going to go for a nod to Pokemon evolutions, but that didn't pan out. Then I was thinking I might have adult Chirin be a shadow behind him in a style akin to that Phantom Menace poster where Darth Vader's shadow appears behind Anakin. But after doing all that work designing him, I just decided to post it as is.
You know? When I think of Chirin I am kind of reminded by Anakin. Both lost their mothers, both were swayed by a dark influence and become monsters. Only difference is there isn't a Padem for Chirin and he didn't find redemption. Although in the realm of fanfiction anything is possible.
