Made a chainmaille shirt out of steel rings and pop tabs. Many people have found it interesting, 2 of my friends wanted one and Ive made them each one also. Takes about 1 - 2 months if things (life) goes well.
This is for costume purposes, is not combat ready armor. Is lighter than a full steel shirt, wore it all day to Renn Fair this year with no problems.

Over 2000.
Ive made 3 so far, make it in 4 parts, measuring the width of one shoulder area is 12 tabs, and going from front to back (wasit up to the shoulder, over and down the back) is 80. So for one "side" piece is 960, 2 side pieces is 1920, and thats not counting the chest and back pieces that go between the two sides. And that be about 1000-ish steel rings too.
I used 16ga handmade rings. Dont be afraid to ask more questions though :)
(used to work at a recycling facility, pop cans came in by the 1000s, but some people also helped out by donating theirs)
