The character pictured here is in fact Ransom, one of the characters from the new story I'm working on, 'Off the Beaten Path' - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11578732/. Expect to see a lot more of him as time goes by!
And no, he's not naked from the waist down :P He is in fact wearing britches, with heavy chaps over them. Cowboy style!
Ransom should have his rifle in this pic, but since it was for a convention, I opted not to include a gun in the image. So, thus the bandolier, but no gun.

Do you mean a closeup? Because a higher resolution version of this image would literally just be a larger version of this entire image, and the reason I won't post those is because people could use that high res image to create and sell prints, which I'd like to avoid, since, y'know. . . I'll be doing that :P
Absolutely not, many hunters and furriers carried both. A bow is far better for catching game without damaging the pelts, but a gun has a lot of stopping power when it comes to intimidation, or dealing with predators that actually pose a threat to your well-being. The sound alone will scare off most.

Ooh, no wonder it was a waste of money as you say! 0~0 Seriously? Not even in the building? Bureaucratic fuckery at it's worst. I'm paying my friends to sneak me copies of their Illustration assignments so I can practice on my own time, but I'll have to look and see what the protocol is on sneaking people in...
