All finished! Here's the second in what may well be an eight kirin series, but at least a four one. This is the earth kirin, and she was a heck of a lot of work. Her metallic colors are interference paints, so they shift around depending on the angle of the light. It's a very nice effect that doesn't come across in photos at all. She is best viewed in sunlight, where the green in particular comes across very nicely. She has a green crystal on her forehead. I am considering selling her. Anybody interested can make an offer, although I shall spare a few of you the effort and say that offers under $50 won't be considered.

Your My Little Pony creations are absolutely stunning. I've seen others before, I've heard of 'trading ponies', so I guess this is a kinda popular thing. Yours are by far the best I've ever seen, however...
If you don't mind me asking... how would one go about making these? I would love to try it sometime...

Depends on what one wants to make, really. Generally you start by taking an old pony, pulling the head off, removing the hair, and stripping off the symbols. In the case of these kirins, then I put in a wire to support the tail and sculpt it, and the horn, feathering, and scales, then paint it and glue on a strip of fake fur. Most customs though you just paint a new symbol and add in new hair. It all varies, really.
