So I sort of have a thing for industrial salvage repurposed into interior design elements? As goddamn hipster as that sounds (forgive me!)
So here are some aluminum I-beams that I think came off a local bridge during some maintenance work. I took 'em down to the sandblaster and then did some sanding with my little hand sander to polish them up a bit. Now I just have to work on the table top. It's gonna be a big dining room table eventually.

Oh yeaaaah. I've got all these plans. And my dad is letting me take some of the old barn down for boards (if people would stopp stealing them that'd be great), so it's gonna be a kickass industrial/rustic/automotive themed house. I've been looking for an engine or just the block I can make into a coffee table too, like this one: http://www.mykivonferro.com/wp-cont.....ffee_table.jpg
Looks solid.
Sometimes I wish I had the skill (and the drive) to build a telescope with legs like these. All the scopes I've tried to use always had terribly wobbly legs, made catching onto a star super difficult. A set of big heavy legs like this would be bound to help keep her steady.
