On Friday evening, while frantically making as many business cards as I could in preparation for the craft fair I was at on Saturday, I took like half an hour while the laser cutters were running and quickly designed a mask. I cut it once the business cards were done, stained it and formed it when I got home, and sealed it with clear acrylic spray in the morning. Then, at the craft fair, someone bought it. Twice. One woman really liked it and was about to buy it, then suddenly ran off, leaving me kind of confused. While she was gone, another woman came up and bought it. The first one came back and I offered to make one up for her and ship it.
So that's what this one is. I tried to take photos of the first copy of this mask, but they were in direct sunlight and so they came out really blown out.
I didn't really have a clear idea of what I wanted to make when I was drawing out the design, but once it was done and I thought it fit together reasonably, it kind of made me think of a swamp monster of some sort. The frills on the bottom reminded me of gills somehow.
Anyway, yeah. I've got another copy of this cut that I'll stain and form up, then I'll probably post it up for sale on my Etsy page.
