A friend and I conspired as to how a chapter of female space marines would come about within canon, but it is a shame that such an idea would not be likely to catch on.

Well, this plan would work for either Chaos or Loyalist. Chapter or Legion gets lost in the Warp a few hundred years. Come back to realspace transformed into women, and the change was complete enough that they only remember being female. The Warp does odd stuff... and as for the Loyalist chapter, the change to the geneseed would have been altered to affect women, and aside from that and maybe one or two other small mutations, totally stable and usable by their apothecaries. A little silly, perhaps, but in 40K, such a thing would be totally possible xD

Awh man, I've had multiple people try to get me to say Yvonne was transformed into a woman, MEH, I like her being ALL woman and born that way XD but thats just me. The idea seems pretty good I think.

Well, if any punks would be able to screw with the geneseed enough to make it work for women, it would be heretek Magos Biologis using warp stuff to do it. Or Fabius Bile if he actually cared enough to. He seems more interested in the original geneseeds and making them work right in the first place.
