I swear that's happening everywhere. BnN is the only bookstore chain left, there's NO place to buy movies, and yet the Victoria's Secret has recently doubled in size and is now chrome plated. O.o
Still burns me that the local mall was turned to a strip mall, years ago to boost business. Yeeeah, a dollar store, check-to-cash, and an army recruiter... sure signs of a great local economy! >.<

The economy where I live is fine, it's just that everybody built their big money making stores around the Wal-Mart, so the old part of town where the mall used to draw all the business to started to shrivel up. No bookstore in the mall anymore, pretty much just clothing stores, and a gaming store that specializes in Warhammer 40K tabletop things with a shelf in the back for everything else. They have a ton of arcade games in a storage place that used to be the Old Navy before it moved out, but they have no plans to do anything with them.
