So I've been trying to figure out what I want to do as a career and when i asked ryanjampole for some advice he suggested that if I'm interested in drawing comics I should draw more comics and work on drawing Backgrounds. So one idea i got was to just find photos of places and draw them, and another idea was to take locations for games or cartoons that are well known and draw them too. So i started with Peach's Castle from New Super Mario bros.
I think i have a good grasp on how to draw BGs but the one thing i have a hard time with is how to use a vanishing point when its not on the page. This pic is using two point perspective but both points are off the page and that makes me lose allot of accuracy with my lines

I guess they keep moving it since Bowser keeps uprooting the whole darn thing. This is probably the fifth location Peach's castle has been at.
Hey, how about giving Mario's castle a try. Remember, Mario has his own castle. Or had one, at least. Now he just sort of lives in a shack. At least Luigi has a nice mansion to call home. Well, if Mario didn't make him live in the shack with him.
So Mario has a castle and Luigi has a mansion, yet they live in a shack somewhere. Doesn't make sense.

Well, vanishing points... Really, you draw them when they're more the focal point than the subject in the foreground (in this case, Peach's castle). Like say, instead, her castle was to the side, and behind it in the background you could see the neighboring Koopa Kingdom, or the sea, or the Koopahari desert etc. In this case, what ever is to the side, the castle, maybe some neighboring trees, or foliage end up bordering the vanishing point you desire to draw =)
