This was one of the first defining moments for her.
Aries is fiercely, sometimes even *brutally* protective of children.
She realized not long after saving these kids that if she had followed the original mission specifications, she would have murdered over a hundred children. The realization made her look at every angle of her missions before proceeding on a plan. She's quick to anger due to her short fuse later in life, but she's always deliberate and thorough when planning her missions. It's how she once managed to capture a general from the middle of a fortified bunker.
She won't kill unless it's necessary, but if someone tries to kill or actually kills a child, she will slaughter that person without a second thought or regret.
It's what led Aries to go down into Hell... what drove her to accept House Scantillian's impossible mission. What led her to offer her own soul upon her death in exchange for freeing the child heir of House Scantillian.
And if you'd ask her if she regretted it, even knowing what it cost her, she would say that she would do it a hundred times over again if she had to.
