Well maybe he did wash his hands which is why he's vaguely disgusted, and he'd prefer it to smell like rotting meat a bit more. Vultures are pretty much the only birds I know of with anything resembling a decent sense of smell. A lot of other scavenging birds literally just use sharp eyesight to look for vultures and then just follow them to kills. :Y
