Game Freak knew by releasing copies to a select few without an NDA that they would be leaking the information. And you can bet they would be suing like crazy if they didn't let it happen.
They are not going to confirm or deny anything until the game itself is released live. And most pokemon sites are really good with not posting "rumours" as official news stories.
Though the forums and chatrooms throughout Pokemondom are ablaze
I've been checking out videos of it being revealed on youtube, and of forums with all three final evolutions of the starters lately and there's a of LOT hate on it for some odd reason, and people are switching to Chespin or Froakie as a result...
The only worry I had was that it would be fire/fighting AGAIN, but thankfully Delphox changed that, and even if it didn't, I'll still stick with Fennekin as my starter for Pokemon X :3
Then I saw Delphox, and the only phrase I could think was, "I'm Not Worthy!" I just can't understand the flak (s)he's getting.. The sorcerer/ mage look is absolutely brilliant with the fire motif on the robes. (And Mahogany is one of my favorite colors.) Meh, if people don;t want him/her, I'll gladly take them. :3 Fire/psychic mage fox for the win in my opinion.

My two other friends and I even did a thing where we pick one starter pokemon, the other two can't pick the same one, and we're stuck with it. And I got the one I wanted which is Fennekin XD
