Species: Vrael
Personality: Sweet and loving, but very protective of those she cares about.
About Her: She is Mao Wildmane's pet, and she is roughly the size of a medium sized parrot. Between her tail and wings, she can sorta fly, though it's more like a sugar-glider's or flying squirrel's gliding flight then a full flight. In order to truly fly, she has to engage a bit of magic, and she can only fly like this for about five minutes. The four spikes on her head are normally soft and flexible, but when she gets protective over her friends or defensive over something, they harden and sharpen, they become like miniature knives. The outer edges of her tail fins also get very hard and sharp, turning it into a double-edged flat-dagger. When her spikes and tail are hardened, they are like diamonds, and they can cut through almost anything. Her claws are also very sharp all the time, and she has to be careful to keep them retracted.
About Her Name: Her name was the first thing that came into my mind when I saw her, per the rules of the species. I believe that 'Vissa' came from my love of the Belgariad/Mallorean series. Issa is a god in the series whose totem is a snake. But who knows.




About the "Vrael" species
Vrael are a species created by mekattak, and there are, to my knowledge, only two rules. The first is that you can never create your own Vrael, so any Vrael you create you may not keep. The second is that you must name it with the first word that pops into your head upon seeing it. If you want a Vrael of your own, you could ask mekattak or zaezar, though you might want to offer something in trade, they are creating a little buddy just for you. ;) As far as I know, these are the only two with permission to create Vrael.
