I wrote this note for a friend of mine in the weekend. It's written in Norrønt (Old Norse, the language of the Vikings. Though the grammer is a bit off, I'm not fluent xD) with the Elder Futhark runes (used by vikings, though these evolved into the Younger Futhark later on)
Anyhow! A litterary Norseman of the 700-800 centory could might have been able to read it :D

Thanks :D And yeah, Tolkien knew a lot about the Old Norsemen and the Anglo-Saxons in particular (whom came from southern Denmark anyway)
He used the runes of these folks as the inspiration for Rohan and the written language of the dwarfs (though the language itself draws a lot of inspiration from Hebrew :3
