OK, I know, I missed it.

A painting I did inspired by Devin Townsend’s song Kingdom ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NraG_UFkkFY ), and I specifically mean the version of the song that he recorded as part of his Epicloud album.
I originally came up with the mental image for this painting over a year ago when I was designing this assortment of "angelic" creatures (http://hedgehodgemonster.deviantart.com/gallery/40693165). But I didn't have the painting skills to REMOTELY capture the mental image I had in mind, so I held it off. And then more than a year later I've made this.
The mental image comprised of the creatures I had designed flying out from this giant flying castle-like structure. That was ambiguously probably a creature just like them only fuckhuge.
Now I’ve seen the way it’s headed
Down and down, the youth descended
Have it here and without worry
Baby please, there is no hurry- I’M FINE!

technically though it's ALL angelic (have you paid attention to how angels tend to actually be described like wow).
fun fact for you though, if you wanna know what old Lovecraft MIGHT have actually imagined Cthulhu looking like, you should see the work of Sidney Sime: http://monsterbrains.blogspot.sg/20.....dney-sime.html
it's not as visceral or "metal" as how most depictions of Lovecraft's critters turn out now, but yeah, this guy was one of Lovecraft's inspirations I think.
