That's good to hear. :) I didn't expect to see a very well drawn pictures depicting Bigwig and Hazel being tender with each other. It was a surprise. A pleasant surprise. That's why I'm looking forward to seeing more of your Bigwig/Hazel drawings, although pictures with other Watership Down characters would also be great. ;)
What I like about this picture (apart of good quality of art) is Bigwig showing his soft side through something so simple as grooming Hazel's fur. Most of the time, Bigwig is the tough captain of Owsla, so he doesn't often display softer part of his personality. Not to mention that he wasn't too eager to accept Hazel as Chief Rabbit, so - having that in mind - it's sweet when he gets quite intimate with Hazel in this picture. By the way... May I ask why did you decide to pair these two?
Heh. With such a small tongue, it may take awhile for Bigwig to groom all Hazel's fur. Then again the latter doesn't seem like he would mind it. :D

First of all, thank you for taking you time and writing me a nice long comment, it made my whole day! I hardly get much feedback here in FA, and it's a pleasant surprise when somebody comments, especially a fellow Watership fan! I will probably draw more rabbits that just these two, I especially love Blackberry and Dandelion, but also Fiver, Bluebell, Buckthorn... okay, almost all of them! So you can expect a variety of Watership Down characters, though I am a little lazy when it comes to actually finishing artwork and posting it anywhere.
I really like Bigwig and Hazel's chemistry, how they at first somewhat tolerate each other and Hazel keeps thinking that Bigwig will be a problem with his Owsla behavior, but then they gradually start to respect each other and trust each other. And how Bigwig accepts Hazel as his Chief Rabbit, how it comes gradually and culminates in the battle against the Efrafans, that's really one of my favorite things in the book. They are so wholly different characters, it's really great to read about their growth and relationship to each other.
And I like to think about Bigwig's softer side, of course! He's such a grumpy fellow at times, it makes it all much sweeter.

You're welcome, peemuska. :)
As for starting something and then not finishing it, I know how it is from my personal experience. I know it all too well...
And yes, Bigwig can be quite grumpy. I think Blackavar can attest to this fact, since he was one of the rabbits, who got to know both soft and grumpy side of Bigwig. I mean... Back in Efrafa, Bigwig tried to lift up his spirits and did everything to rescue him too, even though he couldn't know that Blackavar would become a useful rabbit. Some time later, when everybody was traveling back to Watership Down, Blackavar advised against staying in one particular place. At that moment, Bigwig showed his rough side by disagreeing in less than graceful manner. We both know how did that end...
