Here's another original that I usually play with
zomgshiny in the band Urban Superstition. Granted the only recording of that so far is pretty hard to see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmjbzRRXuKQ).
I did this recording my own because I felt like working more on harmonies. It was heavily inspired by the ska band Streetlight Manifesto. Hope you like it.
On a side note, I am trying to get into new bands to start learning more songs to play on guitar. If anyone has band suggestions I would love to hear them. If I play my cards right I could get Shiny to sing them with his beautiful voice. ;)
Lyrics:
In a car in a parking lot with you behind the wheel.
Guess we got away with more than we thought we'd steal.
Sirens ringin' in the night coming down our way.
It looks like we've got things to do and nothing left to say.
Riding through the alley. Sliding down the curve.
Speeding down the wrong lane, let's see them show us some nerve.
hand me that revolver. Let's see what they can do!
It's not like expected any less from them or you.
They say "Hey." (HEY!) "No." (NO!) "Turn yourselves in!"
Try to placate but exacerbate the state that we're all in.
And it's funny, they way we laugh and the way we grin.
cause indulgence is always better when it's coupled with sin.
I said, "Yes, I KNOW this is how it goes.
And the people will remember that we're the ones to blame."
Yes, I KNOW! This is how it goes.
And the people won't forget us or the sound of our names.
It took us such a long time. They brought it on themselves.
There's $20 Million in our hands and they can rot in hell.
Let's just make the long haul. It's just me and you.
We can go our separate ways if we make it through.
So go left (LEFT!). Right (RIGHT!). Eyes on the road!
There's nothing left for us here and it's time for us to go.
Filled with anticipation, slight exasperation.
Is it my imagination? Oh, please join the conversation!
And say, "Yes, I KNOW this is how it goes.
And the people will remember that we're the ones to blame."
Yes, I KNOW This is how it goes.
And the people won't forget us or the sound of our names.
The crash. the flip.
End over end.
Twisted metal and glass and steel as we meet the ground again.
The smell of gas on fire.
The taste of blood and iron.
I wake up to find that I'm alone in the wake of what transpired.
And you & the money are both gone away.
I guess you figured it was better than to sit here and wait.
As the man with a gun, makes his way.
With his finger on the trigger he'll know just what to say.
And, yes, I KNOW this is how it goes.
And the people will remember that we're the ones to blame.
Yes, I KNOW! This is how it goes.
And the people won't forget us or the sound of our names.
Yes, I know!!
Yes, I know!
Yes, I know!!
Yes, I Know...
I smell it first and I hear it last.
Somewhere in the middle there's a bullet in the flash.
And the BANG!!... Of a gun as the pin hits the shell.
My only regret is not saying farewell.
And yes, I know this is how it goes.
