I was waiting for a few people to get back to me on their commissions, so I decided to do another small species sheet.
Have something cute and feathery.

This picture is meant to focus on my notes about the species and putting a definite design down on paper rather then writing a masterpiece. I usually catch most typos, but some slip by me. If you see one and it bugs you, please send a note rather then publicly announcing it. Thank you!

If one of these beasts could talk, you'd finally have the sci-fi version of the Apteryx from the B.C. comic strip - a "small flightless bird with hairy feathers (and more then a little snark)."
I imagine the wild ones have a cross between a kiwi and and ostrich-like lifestyle - they are natural camouflage is blown, run, if they can't run, kick. (The whole "ostrich head in the sand" thing got started because of their lie-flat camouflage posture, which doesn't work at all in desert).
I'd keep one. They are probably a lot smarter then pet ducks, even if the temperament is similar. (An avian equivalent of a cat, maybe?)
P.S. there's a typo in the top left paragraph: the word is "fowl". Nothing about these wee beasties looks "foul". ^.^
