I originally went over this with 'blue tape', the semi-sticky tape, but it wasn't holding together well so I used real (cheap) duct tape.
Fades taped up the back part for me. Getting it off was a little claustrophobic for me, and I think I lost some hair in the process, but we managed. :)

Wow that looks awesome! Yeah painter's tape or blue tape does not stick well but its made that way on purpose considering it's use I guess. =\ But I cant believe you actually pulled off taping it with it on your own head! I have only seen people use dummy heads for that part... o.o
