I had a fountain pen for moere than 17 years, using it throughout school and even later. then it fell apart, and I boughht me a new one by the same manufacturer. two years later they quit making the special cartridges they required (the pens had a spare tank included in case you run out of cartridges). and I had to buy another one; I rarely use it anymore, soemhow I never come around writing letters by hand...

My FPs all have ink converters and I use bottled ink. Something about the act of writing with them is just soothing and fun...although honestly, I don't write with them much. I do most of my inking with them, however.

I know what you mean. my hand cramps up when writing with ball point or even pencil. a pen is so much more smooth.

I once tried a simple FP with black ink cartridge but that thing clogged and dried up, as did that chinese writing brush I tried out for inking.

Ah so I see you are using Private Reserve in your pen. Has the Fountain Pen Goddess answered your appeals and guided you to a repair shop yet?

Yep! She told me that my efforts were very cute, and then told me to go find a shop. ;)

I am fond of a number of the Private Reserves and also the Noodler's. I prefer the P.R. Black Velvet to the Nooder's black, which is interesting since a couple pen shops have told me that the Noodler's has the reputation for being the blackest. My sepia stuff, I am doing with the Noodler's Kiowa Pecan, although it dosen't *quite* get what I'm looking for.
