Lina Khaldi was born in New York City, soon after her parents immigrated to the US a year before the Iranian Revolution in 1979. She grew up watching the frequent street basketball games from her fourth-floor apartment, and it became her favorite sport although she was rarely chosen to play due to her height in comparison to the much taller furs she lived with. With her parents' blessings, she attended the New York School of Finance, and started her career in the banking business and administration. However, her love for the sport remained with her, and while she was never a professional player, she accepted a job as an assistant to a General Manager of a FBA D-League team in 2007.

In the summer of 2013, Lina started her dream job... a General Manager for a FBA team. In the 2012-2013 season, the Las Vegas Wildcards struggled and ended with a third-worst 22-58 win/loss record. When Lina took the job as their GM, she took control of a team that lost a little over half of the entire roster to the free agency... she's still learning the ropes in the sometimes messy politics of the FBA, but she's confident that she can survive through it and strive to improve her team.
