Here's a song that's been called "The catchiest thing you've written yet" and "Okay"!
It's something I was certain I wouldn't be able to make work, but I'm pretty happy with this groove. It's all up beat and peppy.
Lyrics:
Gimme some time to wait and see
will I get back my once a week cause this
nightly might be killin’ me but it feels good for now.
Fallin’ blind into my bed
nothin’ done and nothin’ lifted up above the rest but hey
everyone is doin’ fine and when
inspiration strikes, honey, let’s go to the bar.
Don’t try and think about it
waste time and live without it
slow down, what do you see?
Miles of empty paper
someone will write it later
You know what yer doin’
You can make it through an’
if you got a dollar left then you’re doin’
fine
Inspiration does, inspiration doesn’t
always say, the last thing in their
physical, metaphysical inner eye
Yeah
(solo over Chorus chords)
(Acapella Chorus)
(Chorus, repeat and fade)
Andrew played the keys, everything else was me.
The bass line KILLED me. I hope you appreciate it.
BONUS (Already Claimed): The first person to name the video game we stole a line from in the keyboard solo will get a free copy of one of my albums. Comment quickly!
12-string got it! Great job.

It's wonderfully upbeat!
The only critique i can offer is that in some parts the guitar chords are inaudible (but for the rhythm), namely during the choire and the piano solo. In defense I've to say that I did just listen over my stereo, which lacks some mid-band.
I really loved that solo and like the whole performance (also the cool basslines ) It's quite rare for me to hear some nice honky-tonk piano ,and I certainly didn't expect it, but I love it the more.

Yeah! I hardly ever have stuff THIS upbeat but I love the groove of the thing.
Yeah the guitar is super subdued. It's really just an effect. I'm surprised you could even pick it out. I had to make mixing decisions and ended up smushing the guitar back.
The solo is awesome, Thanks Andrew ^^
I'm glad you liked it ^^

I am good at leaving ambiguous phrases, aren't I? Heh
Wouldn't be still hanging around if I din't like your music, now would I?
Well I suppose you can't assume these days...one look at Youtube will
show you people who live to comment about how intensely they hate
artist x and how impossibly bad their music is. But I digress, for all the
ambiguity in my comments, you know very well you're going to have to
try really hard to make me hate something that you've made, or if you
want to take the easy route you could make a mainstream rap song. :P

okay, I was in a preeeeeeeeeeetty bad mood today, been sick for over a week now and every time I cough it feels like my brain wants to squeeze out of my ears, and that got me a bit grumpy today as you could imagine...
but this... this just got me in a good mood right away, I love you man, love your work and how you convey feelings into such a great energy

we Zaix! GOOD!
I'm being peppy as heck lately. Trying to be up beat and driving in my music and I'm glad it happened in a good way for you with this one.
Thanks for listening. Always happy if I make someone happy ^^
ps.... got ANOTHER super peppy thing coming out... very very soon

FINALLY, a musical artist i have seen on here (aside from the slightly sporadic colson) who knows how to deliver a hook in their music!
FANTASTIC songwriting.
The ONLY bad things, and there are only 2 mind.
The vocals are a little too dry, a hair more reverb on the lead vocal would be amazing. unless that is a stylistic thing you are doing.
And a higher falsetto harmony in the back would add some nice treble to the chords you are doing in the harmonies.
Other than that. FLAT OUT AWESOME.

but....I HATE HATE HAAAAAATE the sound of my own falsetto X3 I'm consistently frustrated by the upper limits of my range. I do what I can. Ideally I have 2 female backup singers to fill out those harmonies, BUT until that happens I have my friggin dull sounding baritone to struggle with haha XP
Reverb seems to be really subjective. I'm trying not to use so much cause I seem to lose presense (I usually get comments on too MUCH reverb, so this is refreshing) but I could see adding more yeah.
I'm so glad you like this.
If you're looking for more furry musicians that know what they're doing in pop music, try Matthew Ebel and "Husky In Denial" (just google 'em)
I love those two.

I love doing backing production for great songs, but have very little time to write decent ones of my own much less record them, its always a bit here a bit there.
But, if you supply mostly recorded songs and from what i can tell great song craft, i can supply backing production, and a tenor voice for backing harmonies.

The bass line is SUPPOSED to sound like Steam Powered Giraffe. The guy they work with (records most of the instrumentals) is effin ridiculous.
It's like, he's a jazz guy, so they give him a simple progression and he has a field day with it. It's great.
For an example, try their song, "make believe"
