Found this laptop in my basement last week. A 1997 Toshiba Satellite Pro 430CDS with a basic Intel Pentium I CPU, 48MB of RAM, and a 1.2GB HDD. It was running Windows 98 SE on it and surprisingly it still works perfectly. I plugged in its charger and the laptop booted right up. Had to get an extension card for it to get internet, but it does work. Also in the basement I found a 1989 NoteStar laptop running MS-DOS 6.1 with Windows 3.1 hidden within DOS.

Noooooo. Not by a longshot. I actually never owned this one as a kid, this was my father's, I happened to find it in our old storeroom years back and got it back up and running just for fun. I was 4 years old (I was born in 91') when I got my first computer. It was a hand-me-down from my dad when he got a Windows 95 machine when they were new. My first PC was an MS-DOS 6.1 system and my dad taught me how to use it at such a young age that sparked my love for working on PCs. That computer was eventually upgraded to Windows 3.1.
