Eid Muzafr Mubarak! Happy Muzafr Monday!
Just reposting this pic from Anthrocon as an Eid Muzafr piece. This is the best full-body shot taken of me in suit yet. Taken on the...third day of Anthrocon, methinks, at a meet I went to. Secretly.
Head, tail, arms/hands by ArtSlave. Clothing/gear, Swag Rag, and 'ohgodwhy' legs/feet by a buddy and I.

Thanks! And yeah, I know. XD They were my first time /ever/ working with any type of fursuit craft, and I 100% know they're far from perfect. XD I was just making a passive-aggressive remark over getting ripped a new one and harassed from some people who thought they're the worst thing ever made and that that must mean I'm a terrible person. *shrugs and laughs*
Yeah, I was getting ripped a new one /big time./ Like they were so terrible and 'ohgodwhy' and that I 'ruined' the suit. I was just like 'Seriously? There are so many /actually/ bad things out there, and you go and harass me about my stupid feet?' Infidels.
Thanks, hehe. I think if I had wanted/gone ahead and tried to make a suit myself in the style/materials I was using, it wouldn't have looked bad, or at least stuck out as much. The colours are what really go BANG in your face, since the fabrics I used are more true to Muzafr's colours (at least how I draw her) and Art's turned out very tan and brown. And I didn't see/know what the colours were going to be before I made the legs/feet, so I couldn't match them.
But it's all good, I still like it all. XD When people would ask, I'd say 'ArtSlave made this, this, and this, and I made the rest! That's why it's a different colour, lol!' And we'd just have a good laugh about it. Not get in my face about how awful it was. Very unnecessary and stupid. (Can you tell that that's a peeve of mine? XP )
But it's also all good since ArtSlave is gonna make me some matching digi legs and feet later this year. :D We had talked about it before, but decided to push it back since making the partial /and/ the legs wouldn't have been doable before AnthroCon with all her other projects. ^^ *excited*

I know this isn't the comment thread I started, but I felt I just had to reply. Why would somebody be so super critical of something that isn't even theirs? They aren't wearing the fursuit, they didn't pay for, and unless they are around you 24/7 while you are wearing it, how is it their problem?
The answer is: it isn't their problem, so outside of a little bit of polite criticism, there really is no justifiable reason to bash you for something that really doesn't affect them at all.
That would be like me yelling at you for picking a flavor of ice cream I didn't like.

My own attempt at self made stuff went way worse, I assure you!
I'd think though that the carpet flooring is good enough that it wouldn't really need the fursuit sandals.
Those that went to harass you about the feet probably weren't aware that the spikes on your arms are pretty real! =p

Hehe, as is the way with all first attempts. XD. People need to actually go out and /try/ these things before they rip others for not being 100% perfect. (Or even if they do make things, they should have the guts and /integrity/ to dig out their old first attempts and remember that we all start the same place.)
Anyway. XP
I made the sandals after I wore them around and outside my house a little, and they got so dirty I couldn't stand it. :0. There's the shoe sole then just the fleece around the toes, so I wanted to protect them as best I could. ^^. And my sandals are so sassy! :D
Haha, my arm spikes are the perfect crowd control! I just had to lift my elbows up, and it was like parting the Red Sea, bwahaha!

"Parting the Red Sea" sounds like an awesome title for a piece of art!
I shall also remember it as a crowd passage term too :)
Yeah, fleece gets dirty a little easy, especially if it's a bright colour (from my experience). My feetpaws were originally the shoe sole as well, but I cut up and attached some pieces of those industrial rubber sheets (think of something like those thick rubber mats) to make new soles (and protect the shoe sole).
Let's just say it was not a fun process, which took a whole afternoon + evening. And by the end of it, my hands were sore from cutting the rubber sheets (which needed 2 cuttings from a knife on either side plus a huge scissors). I sank of rubber & sweat. And I was pretty high off the smell of the contact glue (which I used to attach the rubber soles on).
There is some fur that touches the ground, at the edges, so I generally clean those parts along with the sole.

Hehe, it's perfect! People just part ways to make room for ya, haha.
Yeah, mine were getting little leaves and sticks stuck to the bottoms, and I knew I'd be doing more walking outside at the con, too. The sandals were easy to make, but I feel your pain about cutting those pads! XD. I was lucky enough that my knife was super sharp and made the cutting fairly easy, but getting it to shape and tearing off bg chunks was a pain, haha.
