Vote. With that you choose your own future. Don't vote and you do the same, only that way you can be sure it is a future you definatly don't want.

This case is a clear cut one, often who you vote for doesn't change things to this degree, and for long periods of time the different groups will be indistinguishable based on what occurs within the country.

At present American democracy means voting for someone that you hope has whats best for you in mind. Direct democracy means you get to vote on what laws are passed, or what laws are created at all, as well as all the other citizens. If the rat society even comes close to reality, then the fat cats will be a minority and so cannot benefit from a direct democracy, but they would from an American one since the few are supposed to represent the many, and yet carnivores are less common than herbivores.

So how come the art style is different from the previous comics of this storyline?

That would make them 200-300 years old.

So far we know open season was abandoned in America in this world, but it could still be going on in other parts of Europe and Asia.
