Meh, it's a terrible adaptation of a very interesting comic series. I really don't know what they tried to do there. The comics were somewhat humorous, but rather dark and gloomy with a lot of gruesome murders. But this is pure slapstick.

Yeah it is a rather well known French comic that was translated in a number of languages.

Yeah, my grandmother had a some of them, they scared me to death as a kid. When I re-read them years later with some basic French skills, I thought they were pretty good. But still very dark.
The movie however... I have only seen the trailer - I'm too afraid it will ruin the whole franchise for me.
It looks like a light adventure movie, mixing the story of the first four albums together. It looks also very family friendly, which is a big issue with a series that is not afraid to let major characters die in... well creative ways.
But to be frank, I was allready pissed when I found out there was actually a fifth album.

That's true, he has made some good stuff. But the critics support my first impression, even those who liked it. They call it a fast-paced family movie.
