But seriously, the amount of cuteness in this picture is toxic - partially due to the searingly pink background. Vasquez's style, as is the case with most well-known cartoonists, looks deceptively easy to reproduce, however he's got the very subtle yet strict geometry thing going just about everything he draws, so it can be quite tricky to nail it down.

Both the concept and the style do the trick, but those teddy-bear stitches make Marten-GIR look a tad like Ragamuffin from that Lenore cartoon, which is stylistically close enough anyway ;3
