I only recently learned about the existence of a literary genre called "Southern Gothic" (I'm a european, allright? I can't keep track of everything that goes on on the other side of the pond.) and I immediately fell in love with it. It basically has a similar sort of mood to what I adore in a good western, but focused on more emotional stories with a dark twist than action.
