So a few years ago I knew this guy who I got along with real well. I was about 18 at the time, and thought he was the bee's knees. He however, was extremely aloof around me, going up and down on whether he liked me or not. I tried to move on since he wasn't making any moves, but still tried to keep in touch; I found out months later after sending several e-mails that he had been dwelling on the fact that we never started dating, even though HE WAS THE ONE being aloof and playing hard to get. He sent me a novel in return, about how I was bad for him, and he thought it was wise if we didn't speak anymore, which broke my heart cause he was an exceptional listener, and was pretty intelligent about most things. Apparently not about people skills though.
This kid is pretty much the only person in the world that I truly hate. And of course, if he apologized to me, I probably wouldn't hate him anymore, but as it is, I despise him.
LONG STORY SHORT, I've been thinking about going to Israel this summer on some birthright thing, meaning I'd go for free. I called my dad about it. Apparently, you guessed it: "J. E. Grae (pretentious little bastard, isn't he?)" is going as well. Pretty much destroyed any desire to go for me. Also I found out there's an extensive screening process which includes an application and an interview. Yeah, screw that. I'll just go to New Zealand instead (lol i wish).

I don't mean to start a flaming thing, so please don't take it as such or anything. Nor do I support such acts as what they did back when they claimed Israel... But really, it's kind of what happens, all over the world. It's how anybody got their land. So it doesn't seem reasonable to blame the modern inhabitants... It's not like the little kids out on those streets said "kill the Arabs so that we may reside here!"
Personally... I find the entire conflict stupid. But do not blatantly support Israel in it. The entire thing seems to be pointless spite and bickering over what somebody's ancestors did. It's not like the current inhabitants of Israel had control over what people did before they were born or had any sort of political power. But at the same time... I've heard the government there is pretty damned biggoted towards the Arabs as well. I just really don't understand why the two groups can't co-exist in the same area in these modern times. The killing and the hate just seems so misguided and counter-productive on both sides...
