my mate wanted tortellini one night and got all the ingredients but he was too lazy to make it. so i did!! but i winged the recipe a little as i like to make dishes "my own"!!
heres what i did!
i took this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/spinac.....to-tortellini/
and changed it a little, heres how! (EVERYTHING IN BOLD IS WHAT I DID DIFFERENTLY!)
Ingredients:
~2-3 13oz bags of cheese tortellini (or whatever type of filling you please!)
~2 medium size tomatoes, diced
~1 cup of chopped spinach
~1 heaping teaspoon of minced garlic
~ about a half a jar of tomato basil sauce
~ about a half a jar of Rago spaghetti sauce
~1/4 TSP Salt
~1/4 TSP Pepper
~2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
~3/4 cup milk
~3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
~1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the tortellini, and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
While you get the tortellini going, combine the tomatoes, spinach, salt, pepper, sauces and garlic in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until the mixture begins to bubble.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, milk and cream. Stir this mixture into the saucepan along with the Parmesan cheese. Heat through, then reduce heat to low, and simmer until thick, about 2 minutes.
Drain the tortellini, but do not rinse, return to pot and then serve! i like to keep the sauce seperate so every one whos eating may choose how much sauce to put on their tortellini!
enjoy!!
