OK, here's the finished commission, complete with spikes going down the spine. (photo before spikes here)
This tail is rather shorter than my default tail pattern, measuring in at 24 inches. Good for a shorter person, or someone who wants a smaller, faster-swinging tail. It's made of aluminum scales linked together with stainless steel rings. It weighs 2lbs 6oz. The spikes are a zinc alloy with a mirror-finish nickel plating.
This was the last of my tail commissions that had been on my queue for two or three months! Yay! But, I had a wave of new orders in the last two weeks. Also, I almost ran myself out of rings and am waiting for more to arrive, so I can't power through the new commissions right away.
If you'd like to commission a tail like this, feel free to check out my tail commission guide!
And I'm also open to consider commissions for other sorts of projects. Someone just put in an order for some scale shoulder armor, which I haven't done before and I'm looking forward to.

Thanks! I don't have any experience really with other people's tails. I'm not really into the whole "fur" thing, I like scales. When I was fairly new with making chainmail I had the idea for these scale tails, and nobody else seemed to be making them. So since then I've been making the best-quality tails as I possibly can. And I'm glad people like them!
Thanks for the offer, though I'm currently feeling pretty happy with my search engine results, and I'm not sure there's a whole lot more to do through Etsy on that front. I'm showing up as the 7th hit when searching for "chainmail," I'm consistently on the first page for "dragon mask," and currently on the fourth page for "dragon." If you have any tips, though, I'd be happy to hear them.
