Ya know what I think it is: it's his build and the proportion of his legs and his tail to his chest and arms! Plus the fact that he's just a damn good lookin' guy and is spreading his arms, legs, tail and wings in the pose. Yeah, that and the fact that the loincloth covers just the right amount of his crotch!!!
