Lord Brocktree from the Red Wall series.
Redwall is awesome, I rarely read at all willingly, but Redwall is one of the few books i DO and did enjoy reading.
This was done partly for class and for myself. I've always wanted to draw Lord Brocktree, and I also wanted ot practice doing scenery and backgrounds...so I did this. His figure is too stiff and the colors arn't as dramatic as I wanted but oh well. Also was practicing with Corel Painter

This is absolutely gorgeous! The colors and textures are so vivid! I love the Redwall series, and had the pleasure to meet Brian Jaques a few years back. VERY nice fellow . . . and funny! You should send him a copy of this and see if you get a responce!
Thank you so much for sharing your work with us! *BIG bearhugs*

*the giant grizzly growls happily as he hugs you off your paws and smothers you with nuzzles and licks*
Went to a book signing in 96 or 97, and he stayed after and chatted for a long while. I teased him about football (British soccer), asked who his favorite character was (Gompf the mouse theif, because it's based on him when he was a lad) and I told him I must have gained 50 pounds just reading his feast descriotions (and suggested he write a cookbook)! *chuckles* And yes, he has a VERY thick Liverpool accent! He sounds like one of the Beatles! *smiles*
Maybe check for an address inside one of the Redwall books, or look online for the publisher's addy. Or maybe even an email addy. It's got to be out there somewhere. And if he sees your pic, I KNOW he'll love it!
Peace, love, and happiness!

XD AND YESS!! I'm not the only one who thinks his food descriptions are great. Seriously, I Get so hungry when I Read his books. He even makes simple bread and cheese sounds good.
And it's cool you got to meet him, and accents are fun!
and thanks, yeah I'll try to find an addy. *snugs*

This is an amazing pic!
Absolutely-f'in-gorgeous.
I love the background, especially (pretty colors! :), but the attention to detail is superb, too. ^_~
If I might add: you complained about losing some "drama" for the colors, and I see a simple reason as to why:
The grass is too green. :3 If you muted the brighter, foreground colors it would definitely bring the sunset's vivid-ness out more.
;) Just a little advice coming from someone who's never drawn something like this in all his life XD
Oh - Redwall is the schiz!! ^^
I swear, it is easily my favorite series (although there are a few newer ones I have yet to read)
