I disagree. Street Fighter 2 had more interesting character in my opinion. Alot of the characters in Mortal Kombat were cliche and over done...Oh I'm an evil ghost ninja out for revenge! I'm a big black guy from the military with robot arms! I'm a blond hottie in tight pants and can crush a skull between my thighs tee-hee. Ok Street Fighter used more then a few steriotypes as far as nationality, a sumo wrestler, a hairy russsian guy, a hot shot rich boy American...I just think Street Fighter had more interesting characters and it was nice to see a game that wasn't all about "Only we can save the world! It was just a bunch of fighters getting together to crack some skulls. Although Guilty Gear is leagues beyond Mortal kombat or Street fighter
