Thinking of the upcoming pages, I really felt like I had to make myself a reference of the soldier's complete armor, starting with the cuirass. Modifications has been made since the previous pages, but I don't think it's gonna be such a big deal. Here it is anyway! I will colour it so this is going to the scraps when it's done.
The Naronian cuirass in the heart of the Imperial footsoldier's armor. Beeing lighter than a solid metal cuirass, this combination of fabric, metal plates and pins (I now it says piNNs on the picture but bah!) and leather gives the soldiers a good defence without reducing his movability The dark leather with blacklackered plates and brass framings gives the - for the Naronians - very typical black and gold impression, wich has great cultural significance.
It has a padded inside so that it can be worn comfortably. It's also designed to support the back of it's user and give a straight and proud stance. Each and every one of the soldiers have their own specially made suit of armor that fit's perfectly for them, they are thereby difficult for others than themself to wear, which makes them difficult to salvage. Enemies of the Realm mostly choose to disassemble them and make new pieces of armor from the material.
Chanses are that I will try to make myself a set of this armor when I've lost some weight ;3

lovely, but I´d still prefer a armor like this http://armstreet.de/catalogue/full/.....ruestung-1.jpg or this http://armstreet.de/catalogue/full/.....-und-leder.jpg
Ohh yes I've seen those^^
It's just that I don't really manage to immagine how much maintenance it would need after just one sharp-edged battle... I mean with all those visible cords. Sure it would keep you alive and agile but it would need your care and attention every single time you fight. The thing with the naronian cuirass is that it's made to hold up with only minimum maintenance.

I see, in that case I´d go with a combo of steel made bracers on arms and legs and a short sleeved chainmail that covers my upper legs as well. Combine that with a large round or oval shield and a one handed sword, I am currently working on a type of tribespeople who are armoured like that. Named them Tuardacii.
The swords they´d use would be these two types
