Third of my anthro-portraits of the Addams family. Wednesday Addams, more the Lisa Loring version than the Christina Ricci version. I grew up with the original Addams family and I always loved the joyful obliviousness they had about how strange their family was compared to everyone else. Wednesday always struck me as a rattlesnake sort of personality, long as you leave her alone she's happy, mess with her and you're in trouble.

Okay, I know I ask this manner of thing fairly often, but it's intriguing to me, your choices. Why a naga body specifically? I can agree that Wednesday was definitely not one to be of the fucked with variety, and therefore the notion of a rattlesnake seems to work pretty well. (Don't tread on me!) But you gave her that specific configuration, leaving her the empty mysterious eyes, over more serpentine ones. The snake lower body replaces her legs, but it stops there. What brought this to mind, darling?
Well when I decided what animal I was going to use, I didn't want to go too far with the animal traits as that would make it harder to recognize the character. I wanted to keep as many of her iconic traits intact also, the twin pig tails, the wide staring eyes, the classic black dress, and her holding a headless doll. I actually tried to combine the wide staring eyes with the slitted eyes, but when I inked them they ended up just a bit too round. Really it was a compromise, a blending of the snake and the human. As for the naga, well, if you go too far with the anthro of a snake, it becomes more of an anthro lizard, but a naga really shows that difference, it's iconic. Medusa, Nagi, they all have that same body shape.
