Ive never been a fan of the whole "so bad its good" mentality that seems to infest the Internet like a goddamn rash, every shitty thing has to be brought up as entertainment rather than being discarded for sucking.

It's meant to be ironic and satire because a lot of people really are like that. He's just joking around and actually making mockery of the types, he's actually very laid back and nice guy in real life. Like he said, who would actually get so worked up over a game that's nearly 20 years old?
One, obviously you've never been in a meat processing plant (or your country has much higher standards then the US... we have a legally permitted amount of rat feces and insects in hot dogs). Two, the whole "It's so bad it's good" theory only applies in MST3K situations, where you and a group of friends are to get drunk and/or stoned and make fun of the movie. Watching horrible movies by yourself is simply mental self-flagellation penance for some invented sin... much like the the entire United States and rat-sausage.
Good analogy there. "It's not the product... It's the marketing" type thinking. Recently McDonald's tried a "Pay what you can" for needy families campaign, and that lasted... Oh, about a week. Anyway, I really got a good laugh from this all too clever observance regarding the nasty trend and still ongoing "Ridiculousnes-nes" of "Schadenfeude" based TV shows.
