This is the other CD album cover I put together using one of my own drawings. It would have been more effective if the art had been colour, but I was doing this as a lark (not "Larks Tongue in Aspect", that's a different King Crimson album). The album was one of the group's more obscure and disciplined works, no top 40 hits on this one!

I wasn't that keen on King Crimson in their second incarnation (with Adrian Belieu or however that's spelled). And their third incarnation as a fusion jazz band didn even less for me. But those early albums were gems.
Did you ever listen to a band called Gentle Giant?

Actually, here's the weird thing: There WAS a song on "Starless and Bible Black" with that title -- but it sounds NOTHING like "Starless" (off the album "Red"), which is the song most people know that line from.
And good grief, Saara, the Adrian Belew version was like their TWELFTH incarnation!
And yes, I know and love Gentle Giant. "Octopus" -- one of the coolest albums ever. ^^

I knew KC had about as many changes of personal as a hockey team at the bottom of the league, but I had thought it was essentially the same character, at least, for the first few albums. Of course, I hadn't looked for an album list, so I don't actually know where in their career the few KC albums I have fit. What I've got here is:
Court of the Crimson King
In the Wake of Poseidon
Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Starless and Bible Black
Discipline
I suppose the first and second resemble each other than they do the third and fourth in my collection. Discipline stands by itself, and I don't care for it as much.
I have five Gentle Giant albums.:
Freehand (excellent)
The Power and the Glory (ditto)
Interview (really good)
Octopus (really, really good)
In a Glass House (this was very hard to find, I had to get an import)
I used to have Three Friends as well, but for some reason I hated it. Other people I've talked to only know GG through Three Friends and went away disappointed, so I've had to set them straight.
