I love designs like this. They're elegant, simple, believable, and unique at the same time. This is the kind of character I wouldn't mind drawing, instead of a 5 headed dragon with 10 legs and 4 wings who listens to techno music and raves with glowsticks. xD

This ought to be interesting, but then I'm a fan of the earth tones and such. XD I'd say it fits well. ^_^
only suggestion I could make is if you want the cloud shape a theme, instead of having a single cloud shape on the tail, why not have cloud-like wisps flowing from the lighter tip of the tail.
