My first real Character from my Hexalaceri. I changed a few things on the Species and I will make a new Species-Reference soon.
Most Important: They are now ALL Hermaphrodite.
The Drun are more or less the Drones and the Berun the High-Class. More Information about all that later.
Also the Antenna changed. Hexalaceri can grow different styles of Antennas and also different kind of "hair" - for more character individuality ;D
Hexalaceri don't like to wear cloths. They don't need them, since their skin is pretty durable and they don't have anything to hide, since their reproductive organs are hidden behind plates when not in use. They do, however, like functional bags and stuff like that.
Shahar (prefers "it" or "he" as a pronoun) is a pretty stubborn Hexa. He also questions the Berun Leaders a lot, which makes him a little pest for them sometimes. He is quite clever and sneaky, that's why most Hexas don't trust him. Also he is not declared to a Hive and wanders around to be on his own.
I don't want to tell you more about him at this point, since the whole world around him is still in development, but yeah...he is the "leave me the fuck alone" kind of character.
Please Note:
The Layout-Design of this Reference Sheet/Picture is the same as from the Sergal i posted a few days ago, but they DON'T belong in the same world. I just use this Design again because it works pretty well. And I may use it more often in the future, to produce quick References.

Alright, with the shading it looks really close to this hair http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/ima.....june/swarm.jpg to me and it's even the same hairstyle.
At first they were all male, but only Berun had additional Female Organs.
I didn't liked the idea that most of the Hexas are male. But i didn't wanted to make them genderless either. So they are all Herm now (but not like furry-herms - more like slugs~) There will be a new genderless class/group too.
I just like to play with this genderstuff and don't want that usual male/female clishee. They are Aliens after all XD

What (besides the obvious) interested you in creating an insectoid-like species? You're, like, the fifth person I know including me that has either already developed or is currently developing a species like this. For my part, I was inspired by my friend
Jeremy's Sectis race.
My species is the N'Rachus, and they're arachnid-based. Jeremy has graciously allowed me to place them in his universe, so they'll have a home, though I haven't developed them much farther than their basic species and a tiny bit of their societal structure.

My Fursona is an Insect for years now. So it was kinda logic for me to do an insectoid species. I was my own inspiration there. All my friends make their species and i just wanted to have one of my own.
And if you are implying something, I never heard of Sectis or N'Rachus before.

Oh no, not at all, I was just saying that I was inspired by Jeremy's species. ^^ I'm sorry if that came across as something like that, but I wasn't implying anything. I was honestly just curious about why you made your species, since the interest for making species like this has apparently risen over the last few years, and that made me curious.
I like him, and would like to see more. =3

I'm just a little paranoid with insinuations. Everytime I create something thats not just another Anthro-MurryPurryFurry-Thing somebody pops up with a comment like "This reminds me of ... WHATEVER" I'm SO tired of this.
Anyway...yeah. It's a trend lately i guess. But why not? It's fun.
I just put together parts I like to draw most and that was my inspiration. That whole idea of species creation started with me because of Raxt0rs Tyraeli. http://raxt0r.deviantart.com/gallery/117340 But Unlike so many others, my species is not created for war and fighting.

I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, I didn't mean anything by it, but yeah I can fully understand why you'd feel that way. I wouldn't like it if someone constantly compared my things to something else, either. They don't understand the feeling of making something from your mind, something that you've worked hard to create, just to be told that it looks like something someone else did first.
Again I apologize, I didn't mean to sound like I thought you copied anybody, I was just curious about your species. I hope to see more of him in the future, he looks like an interesting person.

XD Well, I haven't drawn them yet. I lack the artistic talent to do so, but I'm hoping to improve to the point where I can. Sure I could draw them out anyway, but I'd think they were horrible and wouldn't want them to be seen by anybody. ^^; It's really bugging me (no pun intended) that I can't get them on paper, but I will eventually. If you want, I could link you to them when I do.
As a species with a drone caste, would they be sequential, or simultaneous hermaphrodites? I ask because unlike many of the intersexed creatures on Furaffinity, hermaphroditism seems to be part of their reproductive biology (along with the reproductive caste system) and I was curious if perhaps the gender preference was due to a psychological rejection of his potential to change genders (sequential).
It's also unusual for insect characters to have their primary arms be the anthropomorphic ones! It makes sense, biologically, since the primary (stronger) arms are going to be used for more. No offense to
whitemantis whose work is also fantastic. Willing suspension of disbelief and all that. I am just curious if you took factors like evolutionary logic into account, since it appears that you have.

I'll still personally prefer http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10989889/ design <3
