Kilamonsters (closed species)
With retractable claws and a sharp set of fangs, the kilamonster will tear apart its prey after trampling it silently. Reaching speeds up to 35 mph, the massive 2.5 ton creature's only downfall is only being able to keep up top speeds for 40 seconds. The kilamonster's saliva is laced with venom which prevents other animals from eating the carcasses of their prey. Their eyesight is mediocre only about as good as a human's, however they have a keen sense of smell.
It's thick hide is imbedded with precious gem-like minerals, which shine brightly in the sunlight. The average male kilamonster reaches up to 6.5 feet and 20 feet in length (tail included). Females are slightly smaller at an average of 6 feet tall and 18 feet in length, they are ever so slightly faster than males.
Females live in solitary, only living in a group when there is an offspring to take care of. They give birth to one or two offspring every 3-4 years. Offspring reach adolescence and independence at 3 years old. Males band together in groups of 3-4. Females are much more aggressive than males and are more likely to charge when alarmed. Females also have two eyeteeth that protrude downwards from the front of their mouths. Males are rather benign when they are not hunting, perhaps because they know there is always another kilamonster close by.
Although females are hard to tame, older males make beautiful steeds. They can carry 3 horse loads with ease and travel much longer distances. Unfortunately, each kilamonster is limited to one rider during its lifetime. They require trust and bonding time before they allow anyone to climb upon its back. It is said that they are great judges of character.
